Shasta College Wine Program

The Shasta College Wine labelThe Shasta College Wine Program exists to educate members of our local community about wine and viticulture. There are many classes offered in wine, winemaking, and viticulture. The program is coordinated by Roger Gerard of the Culinary Arts program at the college. Layne team-teaches the two Winemaking Courses with Kathy Roth of Dakaro Cellars. Denise is the proud holder of a Shasta College Certificate in Hospitality: Winemaking and Marketing.

The fall of 2014 was Layne and Kathy's 3rd year teaching the Winemaking I (beginning) course. They are now also teaching Winemaking II (intermediate) in the spring of 2015. The label attached is from our Shasta District Fair Gold Medal winning Viognier from 2012.
